Education and Training
23 Essex Street takes professional development seriously.
The Education and Training Committee oversees Spring and Autumn programmes of seminars in Chambers to address education and training needs which have been identified by members of Chambers. The seminars have included the exploration of new legislation and its impact, advocacy skills development, examination of procedural changes, introductions to new areas of work and consideration of ideas and plans for the development of existing practices.
Most seminars are led and contributed to by members of Chambers but the expertise of clerks and of outside speakers, from other chambers, the bench and elsewhere, has been drawn upon.
The main focus for the seminars is on internal education and training needs although occasional seminars have been held with solicitors and other professionals either to consider something of joint interest or to respond to a request to contribute to their training. We welcome discussions with others about working together on matters of education and training.
Members of Chambers have provided or participated in a range of training events designed for members of the Bar or for other professionals.
